The ABK Sunnyvale environment is fun, safe, challenging, and supportive of each student as he strives to do his best. We welcome students from pre-K (Little Ninjas) to adults. Each student progresses at his own pace with the support and encouragement of our team of instructors.
The core of our program is Tae Kwon Do, one of the oldest and most effective means of self-defense. While studying and practicing this martial art, students also develop important life skills such as respect, persistence, courtesy, and self-control. They learn to set and achieve goals, and to serve as leaders. This helps to develop confidence, character, and self-respect.
Adult students often find ABK Sunnyvale an ideal place to pursue their fitness goals, gain self defense skills, and share the fun of learning a martial art with peers, or with their children. Our structured curriculum offers a routine, full body workout, allowing students of all ages to improve strength, endurance, and flexibility.
“My son couldn’t even stand on one leg for a second when he first joined this school. Things have changed tremendously in a year. His physical skills progressed significantly and so does his confidence level. We are extremely happy with the progress he is making at this school. ”
ABK Sunnyvale offers “Small classes, a clean environment and dedicated instructors.” The most important skill that my child gets out of martial arts training? “Focus.” The most valuable characteristic of ABK instructors? “Their love of martial arts.”
“Master Penner sets ABK Sunnyvale apart from other studios. As the studio owner and head instructor he sets the tone and consistently demonstrates leadership, respect, patience, kindness, and humor. He hires and trains other instructors with similar values and style, and their top priority is always the teaching of the students. My child loves coming here and benefits from the structure and routine, while also having fun. This is also a great adult workout and a fun thing for kids and parents to be able to share. ”
“As a busy parent, I like the training to be systematic and easy to get the whole picture, and it’s also much easier to help kids understand. The reason why I choose ABK is their teaching system. Master Todd Penner is very focused on discipline, which is very helpful for parents to train young children. The skills I expect to build in the first year are confidence, focus, and discipline. My five-year-old boy just joined one month ago, and I already saw a lot of progress.”
